Question:
I just bought a Tube-powered radio and it looks really great, classic and Majestic. But when I turn it on, it just makes a loud buzz and sometimes doesn't make a sound nor can i tune it to any Radio Station. What should I do to get it to work?

Last, if you are anywhere near Kutztown, Pennsylvania this weekend (Friday and Saturday) one of the largest vintage radio shows in the country is taking place at the Renningers Antique & Farmers' Market. Look for me at the Delaware Valley Historic Radio Club Buy-It-Now table at the end of the main pavilion. I will be running a radio repair and restoration clinic there and would be glad to look over your radio and get it going (safely) if possible, no charge except for parts (rarely more than $5 or so).
Sounds like the Vibrator is working. Try to see if you have an OZ4 tube in it. The Vibrator that I am familiar with is a metal can looking thing that unplugs. The OZ4 tube is clear glass. You may be able to still get one at Radio Shack. If you are lucky you can take it in and have the tubes checked. There may even be some old smart person there that still has the ancient and secret knowledge.
You may have difficulty finding parts for this one, I would check with a source where they repair antique radios. The tubes are difficult to find, but you might be able to locate them on EBaymore at antiques blog
